The table below shows the nominal Indexes for each handicap and therefore the trigger points above and below each handicap at which your handicap will change.
For example, the nominal Index for handicap 5 is 1500. Games lost or won will change your index and when you reach 1600 your handicap will change to 4. Conversely, when you reach 1400 your handicap will change to 6.
In Handicap games your index changes by +10 when you win and -10 when you loose, and the difference in handicaps is accounted for by awarding extra strokes (Bisques) to the lower handicap player.
For Level Play games your index changes in line with the table below. It is still + for the winner and – for the loser but the value exchanged is determined by the value at the intersection of respective handicaps.
The table on the next page shows the value exchanged for players with handicaps 6 and 7 (i.e. win: +9, loose: -9)
