• Boris Ratushnyy is a citizen of sieged Leningrad . In 1995, he created a team of swimmers from veterans and citizens of sieged Leningrad «The Sieged Battalion of Walruses ».Since that time he has been the Captain of the team.

• On May 8, 1995 It was the first serious swimming race of the team «The Sieged Battalion of Walruses », devoted to the 50-anniversary of the Victory. Participants of the race were awarded the signs «The Soldier-athlete» and five of them, including Boris Ratushnyy received the rank The Candidate Master of Sport of Winter Swimming.

sport competitions and festivals

In 2010-2013 in China ,Israel, Slovenia, Poland, Latvia and Litva Boris Ratushnyy won 10 medals (2 gold, 2silver and 6 bronze medals) at winter swimming,Nordic walking and skiing.

• Since 2000, Boris Ratushnyy is a permanent participant of the World Winter Swimming Championships and in Slovenia(2010) and Latvia(2012) he became a bronze –medal winner.

• Boris Ratushnyy is a permanent participant and winner of Maccabiah. • In July 2013 at the XIX Maccabiahgames in Israel, where 9000 sportsmen from 75 countries of the world took part , Boris Ratushnyy won a bronze medal at the distance of 200 meters in swimming (freestyle) as the member of the group of «Masters» and a silver medal in the mixed international team in the 4x 50 (freestyle).

• Boris Abramovich Ratushnyy is the President of the Federation of Hardening and Winter Swimming of St. Petersburg and he was awarded many governmental signs, including signs «For the Development of Physical Culture and Sports of St. Petersburg» and «The Excellence in Physical Culture and Sport of Russia»
