Pre marital Christian counseling is something that if you are a non married Christian that has someone that you are

planning to marry is a definite yes. As a Christian it is important to know that God absolutely hates divorce and once we

are married then we are to stay married until one or both deaths.

Any good pastor in your church will offer pre marital Christian counseling to you, if you ask and it may even be required if

you desire for that pastor to marry you. When you are dating, there are certain things that you may not have discussed or

known about each other. Often times you are so clouded with being in love and think you know things that you really do

not know. There will even be things that you think that you know that you know and can be completely wrong about.

Your pastor will be able to take you directly to the word of God and let you know exactly what the word of God says about

marriage and how it does or does not fit into your relationship. Your pastor will be able to be an objective outside party

and will get past the ‘being in love’ aspect. With the guidance of the Holy Spirit your pastor will ask the hard questions,

turn the mirror on yourself, and get you to see things the way that God see it.

Pre marital Christian counseling takes time. It is not a one or two month session, be willing to put forth the time. Many

times a full year of counseling is required by pastors. A lot can change within a year and allows you to see the changes of

your relationship. If you are planning on spending the rest of your lives together, then one year should be acceptable. It

could be the one year that will add an knowledge that God has brought the two of you together and not just your flesh.

When God has joined you together then you will know that divorce is not a option and when issues arise, you will go to

the Holy Spirit for guidance and direction. It takes the element of surprise out of the marriage and the two of you can be

children of God and have the marriage that God intended.
