What is Logos LogosUniversityisanon-residentschooloftheologyandministry.Recognizingthatitisnotpracticalforallwhoarecalledtoministrytopackuptheirfamiliesandleavetheirhomesorplacesofministrytopackuptheirfamiliesandleavetheirhomesorplacesofministrytoattendaconventional“brickandmortar”school,LogosUniversitybringsquality,affordableandaccessibleministryandtheologicaltrainingwherestudentsliveandwork.Atruepioneerinthisenvironment,wehavebeenequippingmenandwomenforministryvocationsthroughdistanceeducationsince1977.OurstudentsandgraduatesaresuccessfullyandfaithfullyservingtheLordallovertheworld.LogosUniversityoffersdegreeprogramsinAppliedTheology,BiblicalStudies,ChristianCounseling,ChristianEducation,ChristianLeadershipandManagement,Divinity,TheologicalStudies,andTheology.Allofourgraduatedegreeprogramsarecustom-madewiththestudent’sneedsandinterestsinmind.Werecognizethatmoststudentsdonotfitintoa“cookiecutter”academicprogramsowetakegreatpainstoprovideourstudentswiththecoursesthatwillbestpreparethemforwhattheLordhascalledthemtodo.Degreeprogramsarecustom-madeforstudentsinurban,suburban,ruralandinternationalenvironments.AllofourprogramsareofferedfromtheAssociatestotheDoctorallevel.Ourconceptofdistanceeducation,whichwasonceconsideredimpractical,hasnowbeenadoptedbyleadinginstitutionsofhighereducationasastandardfortrainingforministryandnon-ministrypreparation.Ourleadership,faculty,staffarenotdisconnectedfromthepulpitorlocalchurchpressuresofthismodernworld.Ourfacultyisendowedwithavasttreasureofministryexperienceandstrongacademiccredentials.Ministryprofessionalswithadvanceddegreesareendorsedintheirmajorofconcentrationtooffermentorshiptoourstudents.LogosUniversityprovidesauniqueopportunityforstudentstopreparethemselvesacademically,professionally,andspirituallytoserveGodintheministryandprofessionstowhichtheyhavebeencalled.Asanindependent,educationalministrythatisthoroughlyBiblicalinitsphilosophyofeducation,LogosUniversityisaservanttoboththelocalchurchandtheindividualstudent;providingcurriculum,consultation,anddirectionforthepursuitofhis/hereducationalgoals.OurStatementofFaithreflectsthesolidarityandunityofthebroadspectrumofChristianministryinourworld.Wewhollyendorsetheauthorityandautonomyofthelocalchurchandtherefore,willnotinterferewiththelocalchurch’slife,itsdiscipline,oritsdoctrinalemphasis.

History of Logos University LogosUniversitywasbirthedoutofavisionarymandatetoservethebodyofChristthroughaneducationalpartnershipwiththelocalchurch.Withmorethan37yearsofservice,thismandatecontinuestobeourclarioncall.ThroughthemergerofseveralsmallBibleSchoolsandinstitutesdatingbackasfaras1977,wearetodayaninternationalChristianeducationalministrywithstudentsrepresentingdozensofcountries.Fromasimpledistanceeducationschoolofferingcertificateprograms,LogosUniversityenteredanewphaseinupgradingthestandards,polices,anddegreesundertheleadershipofDr.CharlesTraviswhenhebecamepresidentin1994.LogosUniversitytookonadecidedlyinternationalscopeashepartneredwithministryleadersallovertheworld.HispassionforequippingtheBodyofChristhasfeaturedprominentlyinmakinganimpactinover26countries.LogosUniversityrestructuredtotheUniversitymodelinholdsnowinApril2014,therebyofferingourstudentsarichervarietyofprogramsandbetterqualifiedfacultyinthemajorsweoffer.ManyotherChristianleadersacrossAmericahavemadesubstantialcontributionstothelifeandgrowthofLogosUniversity.Fortheirselflessandvisionaryinvestment,weareeternallygrateful.Thecurrentadministrationandfacultyareeverconsciousofthedeepresponsibilitythathasbeenpassedontous.Toallwhohavegonebeforeandtothosewhofollow,weexpressourgratitude.

Philosophy of Education Ourdegreeprogramsaredesignedtobepracticalaswellasacademic,preparingpeopleforministryandserviceinthefulfillmentoftheircall.Inlinewiththegoalsandphilosophyexpressed,LogosUniversitycontinuestoattainhigherlevelsofbothacademicandinstitutionalrecognition;however,ourprimarygoalisaChristianeducationthatbuildsasolidfoundationinthelifeofthestudentforbothsecularandecclesiasticalservice.Tothisend,LogosUniversityiscommittedto:

• OfferingBible-basedprogramsthatincreasethestudent’sknowledgeofBiblicaltruths.

Accreditation, Authorization, and Recognition LogosUniversityisauthorizedbyTheFloridaStateBoardofIndependentCollegesandUniversitiestograntdegreesandcontinuesasaregistereddegree-grantinginstitutionwiththeFloridaDepartmentofEducationCommissionforIndependentEducation(CIE).LogosUniversityispeeraccreditedthroughtheAssociationofChristianSchoolsInternationalandtheInternationalAssociationofBibleCollegesandSeminaries.Peeraccreditationisarecognitionofstandards,policies,andprogramsoflike-mindedinstitutionsfreeofgovernmentinvolvement.Theseorganizationsarededicatedtocreatingandofferingqualitytheologicaleducation.Itisimportanttoconsiderthat:thedegreeprogramsofthiscollegearedesignedsolelyforreligiousvocations.LOGOSUniversityequipsstudentsforministry.Theadvantagesanddisadvantagesofenrollinginaregionallyornationallyaccreditedinstitutionmustbeconsideredbyeverystudentonthebasisofwhattheirministrygoalsare.

Student Life CourseDeliveryMethodLogosUniversitycoursesareofferedinavarietyofways.SomeofourcoursesaresupplementedbyDVD,CD,and/orworkbooks.Othersaretraditionalguidedreadingandreporting.WeoffersomeofourcoursesthroughourintensiveSaturdaySeminars.SaturdaySeminarsareselective,intensiveonedayworkshopswithapostseminarprojectdueapproximately45daysaftertheseminarisoffered.YoucanaccessinformationaboutourSaturdaySeminarsschedulebygoingtoourwebsite(www.logos.edu)andclickingontheSeminarSchedulelink.AllLogosUniversitycoursesareavailableviadistancelearningorexternalstudiestoanyone,anywhere.StudentsmustpossessthefollowingtosuccessfullyengageinstudiesthroughLOGOS:

HousingFacilitiesLogosUniversityisnotatraditional“brickandmortar”school.ThereisnoresidencyrequirementintheStateofFlorida,soallcourseworkcanbedonefromtheconvenienceandcomfortofyourhomeorministryoffice.Wedonotofferdormitory/housingfacilities.StudentsTransferringtoLogosLogosUniversitywelcomestransferstudentsdesiringtopursuetheireducationalgoalswhilewishingtotransferfromanothercollege.SealedofficialtranscriptsmustbesubmitteddirectlytoLogosUniversityfromallinstitutionsoflearningthestudentattendedaftergraduatingfromhighschool.Suchtranscriptsmustindicatecoursesentered,showwhetherthecourseisinprogressorcompleted,thegradeassigned,andsemester/quartercredithoursearned.Resultsofaptitudeandotherspecialteststakenandevidenceofstandingshouldalsobeindicatedonthetranscript.TransferabilityofCreditsEarnedtoLogosThetransferabilityofcreditearnedatotherinstitutionsandtransferredtoLogosUniversityisatthediscretionofLogosUniversity.EveryeffortwillbemadetoacceptcreditearnedatanotherinstitutionthatwillhelpthestudentcompletetheirdegreegoalthroughLogosUniversity.ThetransferabilityofcreditearnedatLogosUniversityandtransferredtoanotherinstitutionisatthediscretionofthereceivinginstitution.TransferabilityofCreditsEarnedAtLogosTransferabilityofcreditsearnedisalwaysatthediscretionofthereceivinginstitution.Whiletransferofcreditsisneverguaranteed,LogosUniversitystudentshavesuccessfullytransferredtheircreditsanddegreestoanumberoffullyaccreditedinstitutions.StudentscontemplatingafuturetransfertoafullyaccreditedschoolshouldcontacttheinstitutiontowhichtheyplantotransfertodeterminetransferabilityofcreditspriortoenrollingatLogosUniversity.ThefollowingisalistofaccreditedschoolsthathaveacceptedLogosUniversitystudentsinthepast.Thereisnoimplicitorexplicitguaranteethatanystudentwillsuccessfullytransfertotheinstitutionslistedbelow:
