Discrimination on blacks

--Blacks were abducted and sold as slaves between 1620 and

1860s.They were treated as a way: bought, sold, and

worked, sometimes to death.

--Even after 1865, Blacks were still not treated fairly before 1960s

although they are not slaves anymore .

--By 1960s, the emergence of the Black Power Movement, which

lasted roughly from 1966 to 1975, enlarged the aims of the Civil

Rights Movement to include racial dignity, economic and political

self-sufficiency, and freedom from oppression by whites.

Current situation of

Singapore 2061 : Foreign-born citizens population had reached almost

50% of the population of Singapore.

The unemployment rate of local citizens reached a

unhealthy level .

A local unemployed man was killed accidentally by an

over-zealous police officer . The unemployment

citizens started to protest against the lack of jobs.
