Total Exposure Before God
Hosea 2:2-23
God’s purpose is to turn His wandering spouse back towards
faithful relationship with Him.
Confrontation - vv. 2-5
The Groom, because He loves the bride, confronts her and warns her
of serious consequences ahead.
Stop your spiritual whoredom and adultery.
Quench your inner thirst in God.
Act faithfully and reproduce “kids” that God will bless.
Find total contentment “at home”.
Correction - vv.6-13
To get the attention
of the wayward bride,
the Groom may employ firm,
but loving punishment.
Stop at the walls and hedges. Pursue and seek God as your
only ultimate Lover. Turn around and come running
back home. Use all of your resources in
worshipful stewardship. Remember who loves you more.
Restoration – vv. 14-20
After the bride is humbled and separated from all rivals, the Groom will begin again
to woo her heart.
• Spend quiet time alone with God – just listening.
• Take God’s offer of a way out.• Praise God for rescuing you
from the bondage of sin.• Focus your attention on God.• Recommit yourself to loving
only One.
Relationship – vv. 21-23
Finally, the bride and the Groom are reconnected in a faithful, loving relationship.
• Enjoy the blessings of a fresh, personal knowledge of God.
• Allow God to grow you within a merciful, intimate relationship.
