Mountain Solid, Water Reflecting Sangha http://knoxmindful.org/

On the last Sunday of the month (generally), the Conscious Creativity group meets after our regular practice to engage in and reflect on various forms of creative expression. All are welcome! For more information, please email [email protected].

The Mountain Solid, Water Reflecting Sangha is a mindfulness meditation group in Knoxville, TN. We have been studying the teachings

and practicing in the tradition of Vietnamese Zen master Thich Nhat Hanh since 1998. The group warmly welcomes individuals of all

religions, Buddhist traditions, and cultures. We especially encourage those who are new to meditation to attend. While we do not offer formal

lessons in meditation, there is an opportunity to ask questions, share experiences, and discover resources during the discussion time.

The only hard and fast rule of Exquisite Corpse is that each participant is unaware of what the others have written, thus producing a surprising—sometimes absurd—yet often beautiful poem. Exquisite Corpse is a great way to collaborate with other poets, and to free oneself from imaginative constraints or habits. ...Also may be done with drawings....

As an example, the following is an Exquisite Corpse composed using the sentence

construction Adjective, Noun, Verb, Adjective, Noun.

Slung trousers melt in a roseate box.A broken calendar oscillates like sunny tin.

The craven linden growls swimmingly. Blowfish.A glittering roof slaps at crazy ephemera.

The technique was invented by surrealists.... Surrealism principal founder André Breton (early 20’s) reported that it started in fun, but

became playful and eventually enriching.
