CATHEDRAL PHOTO INVENTORY

For my photo inventory project I decided to go to the Los Angeles Cathedral. This is how the

main entrance of the cathedral looks like. Many people who visit this place like to take

pictures here.

Right here we see a framed image of the virgin Mary. This is located just outside of the entrance of the

Cathedral and it is nice and quiet so that people could come and pray and with $2.00 you can turn on a candle. Many people come here to pray when they have a sick

family member or when they come and ask for miracles

Inside the cathedral they have this section of peer virgin Mary images of places where they have her in the walls painted for example in restaurants,

houses and shops. Many people have images of the virgin because they believe that with little of her help everything would turn out good.

This is also inside the Cathedral and its where the priest and people have their confessions. One door it is for the priest and the other door is for

the person who is going to confess. On the right hand picture it is where people wait for their turn and meanwhile they could pray.

This statue was dedicated on February 06, 2011, the statue, featuring a life-sized St. Joseph the worker and

the child Jesus, was commissioned to commemorate the loving guidance and pastoral ministry of Cardinal

Roger Mahony as he entered retirement.

The sculpture is Slatoff’s artistic depiction of the narrative of Saint Joseph and his relationship with the young Jesus. The sculpture is a visual meditation on the meaning of fatherhood.

In this picture we could see how the main church looks like. Every seat is arranged facing this way because

during the mass that’s were the priest and cardinal seat and give out the lecture of the mass. During the mass people from the church go around with baskets to ask

for donations

Also during mass many churches have their own choir in which people who like to sing come and sing during mass so that it could make the mass more interesting and not boring.
