• On February 14th 2017, Instead of locking your account for a limited time due to third-party usage, Twitter is now monitoring every word in every tweet you post and if anything seems that it could be ‘abusive behavior’.

This includes anon accounts that could be joking around with words such as “queer” or any harassing language.

• Twitter used to let users report/ block other users for spam, abusive, or harmful tweets and it would take a day or two for Twitter to review the said tweet that was reported.

In the past…..

• Or if you were using a third-party application, sort of how Snapchat would lock you out for that

Now….

Accounts now are detected not only by potentially offensive keywords, a familiar with the word said, but also by behavior.

For Example, being seen to tweet abuse at accounts that are non-followers. “Limiting the reach of potentially abusive content creates a

safer environment”

What do you think? If you do or don’t have a Twitter, do you think that Twitter is going to the extremes with doing this? Or do you think they should go back to letting users report tweets themselves?
