DESCRIPTION

The City Hall of Curitiba uses a good sense of humor and pop culture references to speak to its citizens via social media channels. Official announcements that would otherwise go unheard are attracting more attention (including international) because they are illustrated in a fun way, wich generates an expressive engagement that keeps roughly 40% of the fan base engaged. An impressive achievement, especially when it comes to a local public administrative body. With an average reach of 1.2M users on Facebook the cheerful posts comes with excellent attending services. Each request is answered in an unique and presonalized fashion. This ensures the credibility of channels (300K likes on Facebook, 30K on Twitter) that have grown exclusively organically, without ads. The entertainment brought by the City Hall of Curitiba to its SM channels has been used to invite the local population to well-intentioned actions, making a bridge across the abyss that separates a government and its people.

As  you  can  guess,  dívida  means  debt.  A  few  months  ago  we  cleared  ours.

When  our  ci;zens  do  nice  stuff (and  they  do  it  very  oMen) we  praise  them.  This  way,a  good  example  is  not  onlyshared  but  mul;plied.  

HoIest  day  ever.  A  couple  of  girls  gave  lots  of  popsicles  to  garbage  collectors  

working  under  the  scorching  sun.  This  remarkable  feat  deserved  special  praise.

Some;mes  we  start  our  own  trends.  We  chose  the  capybara  as  a  city  mascot.  In  the  end,  our  capybara  was  invited  to  Google`s  Proud  to  Play,  a  worldwide  campaign  against  prejudice  in  sports.  

Thanks  to  a  capybara,Curi;ba  was  the  only  brazilian  city  invited

to  Proud  to  Play

Educa;onal  messages  that  would  be  ignored  can  be  widely  shared  with  just  a  liIle  bit  of  imagina;on  (and  a  baby  capybara).  

All  children  should  ride  in  the  back  seat.

During  the  World  Cup,we  wanted  the  interna;onal  media  to  check  on  how  beau;full  our  parks  are.  Clairvoyant  capybaras  predic;ng  tournament`s  matches  were  baits  to  aIract  journalists.

Against  the  boring  bureaucracy  the  City  Hall  of  Curi;ba  bets  in  a  2.0  relashionship  with  its  citzens
