STRATEGIC PLANNING AND TESTING

➤ I know you want to launch your new product or service and span the globe right out of the gate, but you’re most likely not going to be able to do it successfully, so don’t set yourself up for failure.

➤ Yes, if you’re a Fortune 500 Company that has specific strategic planning and testing divisions, you may be able to pull it off, but this is really not the audience that I’m talking to with this content.

STRATEGIC PLANNING AND TESTING

➤ The audience I’m talking to with this content is small to mid-size companies that have been in business for a few years, have seen some solid revenue growth, and are looking to grow beyond their local markets.

➤ First, I’d like to clearly state that you can do it… but it’s going to take a lot of strategic planning and testing, and it’s going to take time to build out each specific new market.

STRATEGIC PLANNING AND TESTING

➤ Strategic planning and testing needs to go into each new market that you launch, and then you need to rinse and repeat the same plan time and time again, over and over. The difference is that as you get more familiar with launching new markets, you’ll learn how you can save additional time and money.

STRATEGIC PLANNING AND TESTING

➤ What happens when you launch too fast, in too many different markets, is that you end up blowing through a bunch of money very quickly, and you’re not able to track what exactly is going wrong. It’s like being on a sailboat that has a hole in the bottom of it… water is pouring in, but you’re just not able to bail out the water fast enough, and you ultimately end up sinking i.e. going out of business.

STRATEGIC PLANNING AND TESTING

➤ The idea for companies is to stay in business, to make money, and to provide excellent products and services, to select markets that suite them best.

➤ Listen, what it’s really going to come down if your business is going to be successful… is strategic planning and testing, and a lot of it. The best advice I can give you is to start small, conquer one market at a time, and then rinse and repeat what works.
