River Ice - Cooling System

Many rural communities and residents in proximity to rivers, particularly in isolated tropical areas such as the Amazon rainforest, the Orinoco basin and the areas around rivers in Africa and Asia, live on fishing and fish trade. In these regions cooling is very important. The "River Ice" plant presented is a small-scale Garman river turbine directly connected to an open refrigeration compressor producing ice blocks with the energy of the stream current of a river. The ice produced is not only suitable to keep the fish cool but also used to preserve foodstuffs, to refrigerate medication, and for a host of other applications. It is a simple, but innovative idea.
