SEIS:

In 2014-15, 2,185 companies received investment through the Seed Enterprise Investment Scheme (SEIS) and £168 million of funds were raised. This compares with 2,090 companies raising a total of £170 million under SEIS in 2013-14.

EIS:Since the Enterprise Investment Scheme (EIS) was launched in 1993-94, over 24,500 individual companies have received investment through the scheme and over £14.0 billion of funds have been raised.

Data for 2014-15 shows that 3,130 companies raised a total of £1,663 million of funds under the EIS scheme. Revised data for 2013-14 show that 2,820 companies raised £1,573 million of funds.

CROWDFUNDING

So what has happened between May 2015 and end March 2016?

• In the last 11 months Crowdrating monitored 678 campaigns that have opened and closed on the top 12 platforms seeking a total of £250m of which £196m was pledged and at least £145.5m actually raised.

• Implies an average of £215k for successful campaigns

• Of the 678 campaigns 390 were seeking £250,000 or less. Of these 210 succeeded in raising the money they wanted or overfunded.
