1. PERSONAL LIFE

Born in Massachussets ,Nov 19 , 1935 in a middle class family.

Jack Welch had three marriages.

underwent triple bypass surgery in May 1995.

Adopted Golf as an exercise and is a member of AUGUSTA NATIONAL GOLF CLUB.

2. ACADEMIC CAREER

Received his B.S degree from the university of Massachussets.

M.S and PH.D degree as a chemical engineer from the university of Illinois.

He was management expert and an author also.

Joined GENERAL ELECTRIC in 1960 , becoming the eighth and the youngest CEO.

Retired from GENERAL ELECTRIC in Sept 2001 , at the mandatory age of 65 years.

3. ACHIEVEMENTS Made 1.700 acquisitions and divested

408 businesses.

Earned $ 2 billion natural resource business from the sale of central air conditioning.

Another $ 300 million house ware businesses.

GENERAL ELECTRIC ‘S 1985 acquisition of RCA, including its NBC T.V

Helps develop Noryl , a plastic product that grew to a $ 1 billion business.
