Foster Family Agency tries to find houses for the kids that are taken out of there home where they can grow as individuals and have all their needs meet.

Proteus Foster Family Agency-Funding
• Proteus foster family agency is funded through state and federal.
• Agency gets reimbursement for each child in placement with one of the agencies foster home.
Population-at-Risk• Children who have been victims of abuse,
neglect and abandonment and who cannot live with their birth parents until family situations are resolved
• Proteus foster family agency focuses in helping kids that are placed in foster care find a home that are suitable for them and that will help them reunify with their biological family.
• Ages range from new-birth to 18 years of age.
Mission and Aim of the agency
• Our mission is to identify, train and mentor quality foster parents to provide a safe, structured, and nurturing environment for out foster children.
Agency’s Practices• The short-term goal is to meet the physical and emotional
needs and well-being of foster children as members of the foster family. This includes integrating the child into his or her foster home and community. The Proteus Foster Family Agency is dedicated to turning those tragic beginnings into happy endings for these children. The major emphasis is on a therapeutic setting within the Foster Family home designed to meet the educational, social and psychological needs of each child. The children are thoroughly screened to determine appropriateness for placement in a Certified Foster Family Home through a review of educational, social, psychological and psychiatric records. Those identified as appropriate for Foster Family placement need a caring and loving home, in which the foster children can grow and develop. The long-term goal is, whenever possible, reunification with the child's natural parents.
Significance of this agency
• Proteus FFA provides a wealth of supportive services to its foster parents to encourage and support them in the challenging task of parenting a foster child.
• Twenty-four hour on call support is also available to make the foster care experience positive and fulfilling for you and the child.
• Foster parents are also given monthly financial support based on the age of the child
Foster Home Certification
• Prior to certification, potential foster parents will participate in a 12-hour training program designed to develop appropriate skills to become a foster parents. As a foster parent with Proteus, you will receive on-going monthly training in a warm friendly environment. These training sessions cover a variety of topics related to foster parenting, such as, parenting skills, record keeping, child development, licensing and placement regulations.
Foster Parent's Legal Rights and
Responsibilities
• To provide certain for the children in the home which includes educationaland medical services.
• To keep the children safe while making sure they do not harm others or destroy property. If negligence can be proven, the foster family can be heldliable for any damages.
• To keep information pertaining to foster children and their familiesconfidential.
• To cooperate in visiting arrangements and within unification plans.
Foster Parent's Legal Rights and Responsibilities
• To give the agency at least 10 days notice if they wish to be removed from the home.
• To confirm to all state licensing requirements.• To keep up to date child records on each
placement in the home.• The right to be considered as potential adoptive
parents of the child living in the home who is freed for adoption and when bonding between the foster child and foster parent has occurred.
• The right to file complaints against the other foster parents and social work staff.
Foster Parent's Legal Rights and Responsibilities
• The right to receive 10 days notice of intent to remove children except where the court orders or when the children are endangered.
• The right to involvement in case staffing.• The right to the court of your opinion on the
child's progress while in your home.
