Conquering the Solar SystemThe Juno probe will reach Jupiter in July 2016 and spend a year making 33 elliptical orbits around it. The Orion Space Mission aims at taking man to asteroids beyond Mars and back in a matter of years.

Understanding Dark MatterOnly about 5% of our universe is made up of visible matter and nearly 27% is comprised of dark matter. Dark matter is transparent to electromagnetic radiation and / or is so dense and small that it fails to absorb or emit enough radiation to be detectable by current imaging technology.

Space TourismSpace Tourism is space travel for recreational, leisure or business purposes. A number of startup companies have sprung up in recent years, such as Virgin Atlantic and XCOR AeroSpace, to create a sub-orbital space tourism industry.

Any company in the business of space must be prepared for extreme complexity, as technical, logistical, regulatory, political, operational, and management challenges collide. The up-front costs are tremendous; the returns are uncertain. Tolerance for error is close to zero, yet the materials and engineering must push the bounds of what is currently possible. And though they seem innumerable, every contingency must be planned for.

ConclusionSpace is literally man’s final frontier. The quest for exploration now focusses on outer space like never before. With the advent of technology and accumulation of data, we now have some knowledge of our surroundings. However, the universe is infinitely vast and almost all of it still remains a mystery to mankind. New frontiers of space research are constantly trying to answer the most complicated questions in the history of human intelligence.
