Presentation of

Belgian companies

active in the

Cleantech sector

1. Our Cleantech belongs to the category Soil. A+E Consult creates healthy soil to live and work on for generations to come. As a recognized remediation expert type II in Flanders and Wallonia, we are specialized in the investigation and remediation of soil and groundwater pollution.

2. Because of industrial activities and oil handling, we assume that there is also some polluted soil in Qatar. Therefore we want to know if soil investigation is already being done and whether we can share our knowledge with the companies that do it. If no such companies exist, we would like to know whether the government is willing to address the situation.

3. Our Top 3 advantages for Qatar:1. More than 20 years of experience in soil investigation and soil remediation2. Flexible team, good at explaining technically difficult material in understandable terms3. Always looking for the best technical and innovative solutions, taking into account time and

cost4. We don’t have references in the region yet.5. We would like to know if there is any legislation specifically for soil pollution. Are there any

consultants specialized in soil investigation and remediation? Is there a market to invest in? Are there any companies that want to collaborate with A+E Consult?

A+E CONSULT

Implementation of zerovalent iron for source zone treatment by means of soil mixing.Because excavation is not BATNEEC, on-site chemical reduction of the DNAPL by injection of ZVI (zerovalent iron) by means of soil mixing may be a solution (pilot VITO)

Multiphase extraction of DNAPL of white spirit and MEK. While the company continued to operate, the ground and the groundwater were cleaned on site.

A brownfield zone is remediated on site by injection of an iron and carbon source and excavation of the source zones. This site has been turned into a healthy home.

Effluent can result in struvite (= phospate) used as fertilizer in the agriculture, or energy can be recovered by means of a heat pump thanks to the heat differencebetween influent and effluent. The sludge production process enables the company to set up a complete recovery programme by means of digesting the sludge to biogaz, electricity and/or dry pellets. Electricity returns to the grid andpellets can be sold as combustible forPower Electricity plants or cementeries.

Our developed technologies enable the company to purify effleunt and give the opportunity to produce high and low end water usage applications (such as drinkingwater, demineralised water, coolingwater,..).
