Narrative•Focuses on the psychological effects of Amber’s
relationship with her criminal boyfriend – majority of the film is from her POV.
•First shot – Amber’s face with blue flashing light [Ambiguous]
•Second scene – Amber and her boyfriend in the car. She thinks she’s being taken to her friend/parents’ house. Boyfriend taking her to a drug deal.
•Scenes following cut back in time to events before the car journey giving context on their life, relationship, occupation etc.
Example scenes• 1 - Amber and boyfriend meeting for the first time in a club• 2 - Amber being used by boyfriend as a courier as part of his
operations• 3 - Scene between Amber and boyfriend showing his neglect
and psychological abuse of her as she confronts him about growing disregard for trying to hide his criminal activities

the door – drug dealers, police?• Development of her feelings of anxiety, entrapment and
fear giving motivation for her want to escape her current life.
Ending

•Amber packed ready to stay at parents’ house.
•Return to the first scene in the car – arrive at rural, countryside meeting location.

Brief Suitability• Fits the theme of ‘Journey’ – literal (car) and
metaphorical (Amber’s development)• Two main locations – House and rural area (and
bar/club/pub)• Two main characters – Amber and Dean (and
extras in club/man at door/dealers in house)• Explores interesting concept of relationship with
a known criminal – alternative POV and focus• Broader themes such as fear, secrets and
entrapment• Opportunity for creativity and symbolism with
cinematography, set and sound design.• Elliptical structure allows for freedom with
scenes
