Give Opinion About India Lacking Behind In Feminism

Our heritage of 'Sati', ‘Child Marriage’ and ‘widowhood’ are proof of lacking behind in feminism. 

The position of women in our country is very critical. Unlike other countries, Indians think twice if it comes to feminism. 

Societies believe the husband should be a bread earner for his family and his wife shouldn’t. They should blindly obey him.

On one hand, they worship Maa Durga, also known as ‘Maha Shakti’, Goddess Laxmi for prosperity and Deity Saraswati for knowledge and on another hand they kill the female foetus and see them as a weaker section of society. 

When girls want to do different from their beliefs, even their own parents don’t support her. They are only concerned about her marriage but after the wedding, anything that happens to her isn’t their responsibility. 

Widows neither get social nor emotional support while in mourning from their family and society in some part of our country. Even rape victims are considered guiltier than a rapist here. 

If a girl wants to change, she will be suppressed by people. Because of this, many dreams are killed every day. 

If you have a dream, so does she. What is the difference? That she is a girl? Come on, she has enough capability to achieve her goals, she just needs love and encouragement. 

Don’t put them in another category with limitations. They are human beings too.
