3. What kind of media institution might

distribute your media product and why?

Page 2: Evaluation 21-30

I think IPC would distribute my music magazine because they have already published music magazines such as ‘NME’ and ‘Uncut’ therefore they are experienced and have the right equipment and skills.

‘NME is the longest published and most respected music weekly in the world.’

There will be a gap in the market for my magazine because the magazines that already existing are aimed for an older audience.

IPC has many magazines that are aimed at men. For example:

•Nuts

•Mousebreaker

•Decanter

•Rugby World

•Country House

•Horse & Hound

‘Print alone reaching almost two thirds of UK women and 42% of UK men.’

4. Who would the audience be for your

media product?

Page 5: Evaluation 21-30

My magazine is aimed at male teenagers who are into R&B music. I think my magazine portrays this quite well because my front cover has an image of a teenage boy and my magazine title is called ‘SuperBASS’.

My magazine is not aimed for a specific ethnicity but I feel it would primarily be read by white and black people.

Here are some examples of the type of music my ideal audience would listen to:

5. How did you attract/address your

audience?

Page 7: Evaluation 21-30

I attracted by target audience by finding out their own opinions on what I should include in my magazine. I did this by using questionnaires and I decided to take their opinions on board.

How much are you prepared to pay for the magazine?

What title would most suit my R&B/ Hip Hop magazine?

FunkSuperBassThwackRage

I asked my target audience how much they were prepared to pay for my magazine and what would title would most suit my R&B/ Hip Hop magazine and these were my results.

I took these results on board and used them in my final magazine which would possibly attract more of my target audience.
