• When to use: Attribute quotes, things you did not see yourself. Shows readers that you’re reporting what’s been said, not saying it yourself.
• How: Use the verb, “said.” Identify source by name, occupation and other relevant details.
• Where: Should usually be at beginning or end of sentence.
