Tablets and Smartphones.
• With the popularity of Android and iOS devices, there will be a higher demand for Tablets and Smartphones.
• This means new ways that people consume information, news and communication – On the go!
• Apps will dominate software sales.
Gamification Unleashed
• With the success of Zynga and other companies that incorporate social gaming, (like Foursquare), more companies will look into this phenomena.
• Gamification is social and big brands are surely going to cash in this closed-badged system.
Mobile Wallet
• With widespread adoption of smartphones and tablets, the mobile wallet can become a reality.
• Beside using your mobile devices to pay, Square up allows you to receive credit card payments anywhere with your iPhone, iPad or Android phone!
Social/Digital Exhaustion
• With 1 Billion of users on Facebook in 2012, Twitter and Google+ is growing as well. Some people may have shared too much or have bad experiences which may reduce their time spent online.
• In general, more and more people seem to be reevaluating their social and digital existence. Even the SOPA battle is revealing some unforeseen schisms. The Stop Online Piracy Act is a bad idea, not because piracy is good, but because of the plan for enforcement is wrong and dangerous.
Augmented Reality
• Have you seen them in museums, games yet?• It’s now in games, location apps, business
cards and coffee shops and could start showing up in cars and even eyeglasses.
• It will be AWESOME!
Online Video Invasion
• With Hulu, YouTube, AppleTV, Amazon Prime, Netflix, GoogleTV… You can get what you want to watch online.
• In 2012, I expect them to be on your bluray player, PS3 and other gaming consoles and the online videos will invade your living room!
Cloud Based Voice Control
• With Siri and the Genius button on mobile phones, it allows you to do voice control on your mobile devices. It will get more prevalent as well.
• Hands free will soon be even more “hands free” now.
Social and Local Marketing
• With better algorithms, mobile marketing will be more local and personalized than ever before.
• The future of mobile marketing will be using your GPS enabled devices to know where you are and sell you what you need.
Seamless Sharing
• Twitter , Facebook, Google+ and other social networks allow you to share your articles that you read and games that you play.
• Top webpages have already allowed sharing and social activities like “like”
Real Time mindsets
• Companies and organizations will embrace Real Time mindsets.
• Engaging the public and be part of the conversation is very important for influencing people or prevent crisis from happening.
• Many companies have benefitted from crowdsourcing ideas and research and development to get people what they like and want before making it .
