During the past four years we have experienced extraordinary growth at Blue Mountain Chrysler. We have concentrated our efforts in assembling the most educated, sophisticated, and experienced staff we have ever employed. But at the end of the day it’s not the new building or new staff that I am most proud of. It’s our new emphasis on providing the highest level of customer satisfaction that drives our vision.

El Camino is the seventh studio album by

American rock duo The Black Keys. It was

co-produced by Danger Mouse and the band,

and was released on December 6, 2011 on

Nonesuch Records rock. Based on the difficulty

the group had performing some of the slower

songs from their previous album Brothers live,

they conceived more uptempo tracks for El

Camino. Danger Mouse contributed as a co-

writer on each of the 11 songs.

BiographyBiography

Who are The Black Keys?

The Black Keys are a two-man blues-rock group from Akron, Ohio, United States

which formed in 2001, consisting of singer and guitarist Dan Auerbach and drummer

Patrick Carney. The band name was inspired by a schizophrenic artist and friend in

Akron, who used the term “black keys” to describe things he disliked or people he did

not trust. The Black Keys have roots in traditional blues and psychedelic rock stylings.

They released their first album, The Big Come Up, in 2002, followed by

Thickfreakness in 2003, and Rubber Factory in 2004. October 2005 saw the release

of the DVD Live, recorded live at The Metro Theatre in Sydney, Australia March 18,

2005. In 2006 they released Magic Potion, as well as the lesser-known Chulahoma

and a single version of Your Touch.

One of their trademarks is their preference for simple, lo-fi recording techniques.

They refuse to use big-name studios, and do most recording, producing, and mixing

themselves. Most of Thickfreakness was recorded in about 14 hours in Carney’s

basement, using only an early 80’s Tascam 388 8-track recorder. Often, their

recordings still have background noises (such as an owl hooting).

Originally created by the Inland type Foundry in 1910 and named Litho Antique, Rockwell is a serif typeface classified as a slab serif or Egyptian. The font was redesigned at the Monotype Foundry later in the 1930th under the supervision of Frank Hinman Pierpont. Rockwell is used primarily for headlines instead of body text. The font was used in the Guinness World Book of Records in the early 1900s. A London public transit company called the Docklands Light Railway also used Rock-well during the late 1980s and earlier 1990s.

Pierpont was an engineer from Connecticut who moved to London and was in charge of the Monotype Corporation factory and drawing office from the early 1900s up until 1936. He was responsible for the quality of the typefaces created by the foundry. He invented a few typefaces in his lifetime, including Aldine and Revival. The most popular typeface created by Pierpont was Plantin which influenced the creation of Times New Roman.

This is dummy copy. You’re not really supposed to read dummy copy, it is just a place holder for people who need some type to visualize what the actual copy might look like if it were real content. If you want to read, I might suggest a good book, perhaps Hemingway or Melville. That’s why they call it dummy copy.

The type foundry was founded in St. Louis in 1892 by the three sons of Carl Schraubstadter. Prior to the creation of Inland, Carl was running another type foundry called Central Type Foundry. He end-ed up selling it to the American Type Founders in 1892. In reaction, the sons decided to create the In-land Type Foundry. It was quite successful up until 1911 when they were bought out by the American Type Founders. All the machinery owned by the In-land Foundry was split between their company and Barnhart Brothers and Spindler. The Inland Found-ry was the first to introduce a standard baseline.

in cover-but don’t use it at all if you don’t want to. We just felt like to make a shooter in 2011 and not have that as an option would just be weird.” Like the original Max Payne games but unlike most of its contemporaries, Max Payne 3 encourages and rewards a run-and-gun approach to survival. Our next shootout does a good job of demonstrating. It’s here that we meet the new-and-improved Max Payne, dressed for the Brazilian summer: Sporting a shaved head, a thick beard, a white wife-beater, and

a crisp pair of Timberlands, Max looks more like a fit, Caucasian Rick Ross than the greased-up Guido we’ve come to know. In an abandoned bus depot in Sao Paulo, Max and Raul’s girlfriend, Giovanna, have been located by members of the rather unfriendly paramilitary group known as Cracha Preto. In addition to the Hong Kong inspirations, there’s more than a hint of Brian De Palma and Michael Mann: Handheld cameras and tightly framed close-ups are used extensively, and the action’s as stylish as

you might expect.

Max and Giovanna take cover inside one of the buses to avoid being spotted, and as the squad approaches another bus and peers inside, we sit patiently for the right moment to strike. Whether you bide your time on the bus, crawl out of the back to remain undetected, or dive out headfirst with guns blazing is entirely up to you: Each of these manoeuvres is a viable way forward, and each of these small decisions will have a domino effect on how the sequence plays out. As in

earlier Max Payne titles, the instinctual, moment-to-moment actions one makes throughout the gunfights, and levels are built with replayability in mind. Will you use cover to lure enemies toward you or slide in behind them when their backs turn? And when will you trigger that glorious slow motion?

How about right... now? The screen desaturates as we engage bullet time, and watching the results is an excuse to violent excess. Max isn’t the only gunslinger in town, and enemies have likewise

been given their own custom animation sets to compliment their physics-based locomotive properties. Most importantly, they take their bullets really well-meaning in every square inch of their bodies, and with much enthusiasm. Each bullet you fire is modeled from the moment it leaves your gun, and enemy bodies flail in the appropriate direction-and with the appropriate velocity upon impact. To accentuate their death throes, the final bullet of every scene-that is to say, the one that kills the last breathing enemy within striking

distance-is given its own glamour shot, which follows as it exits your chamber and until it arrives at its destination. The showers of lead make their mark on whatever they hit, even if it’s not virtual human flesh, realistically leaving your distinctive marks on the walls, floors, and other inanimate ornamentation. The sequences that follow reveal impressively destructible environments. Arguable the litmus test for the contemporary urban shooter takes place inside an office building, and we’re shown two of these today. The

offices, like the bus depot, are distinctly Latin American: The distinctive mix of colonial and modernist architecture the orange-tinged sunlight, and spot-on Portuguese-language voice acting give the place a feel distinctly different from, say, GTAIV’s Liberty City.

Once the gunfire begins, the environment reacts as one hopes it would, with papers, computers, and staplers being blown to smithereens, filling the air with particulate. Max can, of course, down painkillers to boost his health,

and he’s been given a second chance with something called “Last Man Standing.” When you’re about to take your last breath, the game affords you a final shot at the enemy who delivered the mortal bullet: If you hit him, you’ll be given a morsel of health and one last go at survival. A minimal score provides the backing track for the frantic, hectic action, comprised mostly of heavy, undulating bass tones interspersed with staccato stabs of Latin strings. The combination’s surprisingly unsettling and powerful.

What’s noticeable is actually what you don’t notice: Characters running and shooting simultaneously, and the disconnect between their upper and lower bodies. Anyone who’s played online shooters has certainly noticed it, and Rockstar did as well-and became hell-bent on doing away with it. “It’s a really tricky thing to get right-the classic strafing where you see the guy’s lower body going left and right, or they don’t really know how to handle if you’re running back at the camera and you turn around,” says Nelson. “We

struggled with that and tried to get something that looked human and natural-but never let your gun waver from the screen. We’re believers in third-person storytelling and connection with the world, but we want the fluidity and the control that first-person shooters are known for.”

After a series of impressive acrobatics, we make it to the office lobby and find its secretary dead, just moments before a jeep blasts through the front door and careens towards us. It’s a scripted set

piece, and some mandatory bullet time lets us pick off the driver and send the car bursting into flames, all while leaping over the desk to safety. We later skip forward in time, to a point just after something very big as exploded inside the office. What’s left is an inferno, with convincingly realistic fire burning away on anything that will host it. It’s a dramatic end to a dramatic demo-and a taste of what to expect when the game ships in early 2012.
