A brand is more than a logo, a purpose statement or a website. A brand expresses who we are as a company and controls the way we are perceived by our audience. The MACK Companies’ brands are a culmination of what people see, feel and hear
about us. Every member of the MACK Companies team shapes the way the brand is perceived by others. That is why our marketing department will look to you for help
in the continued communication of the MACK Companies’ brands.
A Brand Guide Summary
In a neighborhood right outside Chicago, centered in a town rich with history you’ll find MACK Companies; a family of real estate divisions. The parent company (MACK Industries) was established in 1998 by Chicago entrepreneurs and real estate redevelopers James Jr. McClelland and James “MACK” McClelland. Mr. MACK, as he is referred to by his employees, partnered with his son Jim to lay the foundation for what is now one of the nation’s largest redevelopers of single-family homes. The McClelland family of industry professionals brought with them a wide array of talent, but most importantly the McClelland father and son brought with them a set of core values they embedded deep into the corporate philosophy. Those values allowed them to expand far past the family owned and operated MACK Industries to grow to an organization of over 6 construction and real estate divisions known as MACK Companies.
Philosophy
“Here at MACK Companies we are all about family and it permeates all aspects of our business. Family is all about
caring, support, and relationships which are the very same values we extend to our business philosophy.”
- Jim “MACK” McClelland

At MACK Companies we strive to stayahead of the curve. We constantly push ourselves to think and act progressively so that we can offer our communities and business partners the best real estate opportunities available.
MACK Companies is an organization dedicated to ‘Raising the Quality of Life’ for everyone we interact with. This dedication is expressed through our promise to give our attention to any and all concerns in a timely manner no matter the day or hour.
With over two decades of experience under our belt, we have made more than one mistake. Here at MACK Companies mistakes are never swept under the rug; but instead they arerecognized so that we can grow as an organization.

MACK Companies Team,
Regarding vacation time and personal/sick days, and ensuring that they are being reported to HR and tracked correctly, the following procedures will be put in place, effective immediately.
For Time Off in advance: The Time Off Request Form needs to be filled out by the requester and given to their direct supervisor for approval. The Supervisor then needs to turn the Time Off Request Form into HR. If the supervisor is requesting time off, the form needs to be filled out and turned into HR.
Calling Off: The person calling off needs to call or email their direct Supervisor to inform them that they will be out of the office that day. The Supervisor then needs to either call or email HR with the information so that HR can update the Time Off Calendar. If the Supervisor needs to call off, they need to either call or email HR. Upon returning to work, a Time Off Request Form needs to be filled out and turned into HR, in the same manner as above.
Please let me know if you should have any questions. I greatly appreciate your help with this.
Sincerely,
Rachael A. FootlickDirector of Human Resources

Although not a single business, the MACK Companies’ name and logo grant each individual division within the organization the opportunity to demonstrate that a single brand belongs to a larger family of organizations.
HR is a MACK Companies’ department that conducts business on behalf of all 6 real estate divisions therefore their operations have an audience expanding throughout all divisions and should be branded MACK Companies.
1. When conducting business on behalf of 2 or more MACK Companies’ divisions
2. As a reference for a single division belonging to the larger organization
Originating from the family surname, McClelland, the name ‘MACK’ in reference to the organization is a representative of the core values and business standards established by the company founders. MACK
COMPANIES The plural form of one company representing the 6 divisions.
MACK Companies is not a stand alone brand.
The MACK Companies logo has evolved into a more stylized, simplified and universal mark that represents the companies’ influence in all sectors of real estate. The three pillars mirror the shape of the MACK Companies ‘M’, which are found in each divisional logo. The pillars are aligned in ascending order to represent the business’ continued growth and success.

The MACK Investments division logo was designed with assurance and longevity in mind. The shield shape was chosen to demonstrate the guarantees provided to
investors clients. The ‘M’ found in the center of the shield is representative of MACK Companies business standard and values, while the established date announces the

MACK Construction clients can vary from first time new development clients to clients with years of experience contracting out new development and redevelopment projects.
Audience:
Clients contracting construction work for public works projects seek established contractors who can supply reasonable bids, run independently and complete work on time. Financial capability, resources, relationships with vendors and the experience of the management and construction team drive the choice of contractor selection on public projects.
Private sector clients seeking new development and redevelopment contractors look for construction organizations that can share their vision, act as a partner and bring value engineering practices to a project. Private sectors clients are driven by team dynamics, price and the reputation of the construction group they choose.

One of the first divisions to have an individual logo designed, MACK Construction’s logo was built with growth and integrity in mind. As one of the largest divisions
within MACK Companies, MACK Construction brings great growth opportunities. This growth opportunity is represented in the ascending pillars that meet in the
center of the standard MACK Companies ‘M’. The choice to use a larger font for the ‘M’ found in this logo came from a desire to demonstrate the integrity under which
MACK Construction operates.
