DESCRIPTION
I was scanning through my online calendar the other day and couldn’t help but notice how almost every single conversation I had had in the past 30 days was with someone who had I “met” using LinkedIn. A Skype call with one of my best friends and clients who is an Executive Director of a small Oregon nonprofit? Met him on LinkedIn. A phone call with a colleague from Boston who I check in with regularly to share career growth notes? Met him in a LinkedIn group A conference call with the women in my mastermind group? Met all of them there too. A planning call with one of the biggest thought leaders in my community about a potential joint-venture project? You guessed it . . . LinkedIn. As I thought about how I grateful I am to have connected with all these incredible nonprofit professionals (and none of whom I have met in person), I noticed that the development of each relationship had followed a consistent pattern. If you’re new to social media or are just unsure about how to effectively use LinkedIn, I’d like to share with you my step-by-step plan for turning strangers into strategic partners using the biggest business directory in the world. Learn how to: -Position yourself as a thought leader in your community by setting up a magnetic, professional profile -Recruit new board members by meaningfully networking with other influential community leaders -Raise awareness of your cause more quickly by creating high-impact joint-venture partnerships -Make (and manage) dozens of new connections every month -Get your message in front of key decision makers Stand out from your competitors through developing a strong branding message
