Client: Statoil

The Kristin filed is a gas condensate field in the Norwegian sector of the North Sea that

was developed with four subsea templates tied back to a semi-submersible production

facility. The gas from the Kristin field is transported in a pipeline to Åsgard and further

to Kårstø. Oil and condensate are stabilised on the platform and transferred to Åsgard

for storage and export.

Task

Direct loading to a DP shuttle tanker to ensure field production and gas export

Solution

During a 2,5 months fast-track project, the DP2 shuttle tankers Navion Britannia and

Navion Hispania went through comprehensive preparations to meet all field specific and

statutory requirements.

Development and installation of field specific DP software •

Installation of new telemetry system and re-programming of communication systems •

Development of training program, using the patented DP-CAP training software•

Preparations of field operation manual and emergency procedures •

Achievement

Successful vessel hook-up and continuous field production through direct loading to DP

shuttle tanker until completion of export system repairs

Flawless vessel arrival and hook-up to loading hose•

Nine days of continuous loading operation on Dynamic Positioning (DP)•

Immediate demobilisation of shuttle tankers and re-start of Kristin export riser•
