An important part of any surgical procedure is minimisation of trauma and rapid recovery times.
The result is vastly superior patient outcomes and success for the dental professional.
For example, W&H’s Implantmed has a special thread cutter function that avoids bone compression and necrosis from implant devices, promoting rapid healing and reduced pain.
Features such as pre-set programs enable the surgeon to concentrate on the procedure, and not worry about the equipment, making Implantmed the equipment of choice among oral surgeons.
The well-balanced combination of motor and handpiece means they can be held and manoeuvred comfortably even when being used for long periods of time. This means implantologists can always perform procedures with high precision and reduced fatigue.
To ensure the safety even at higher torques (up to 70 NcM at the instrument in combination with the 20:1 gear reduction of

Importantly, all W&H surgical handpieces (including the new

use saline irrigation and can be disassembled
in accordance with stringent infection control standards.
They are also suitable for thermo washer disinfection
and sterilization, making them hard-wearing and practical for everyday use.

another decisive factor in the success of the treatment, which can lead to difficulties in the posterior area of the
mouth. For example, when performing an augmentation of the antral floor,
it is only possible to abrade the bone atraumatically and make a minimally invasive preparation of the Schneiderian
membrane under optimal visual conditions.
The surgical straight and contra-angle handpieces from W&H are available with mini LEDs+, which are positioned close to the tip of the instrument and provide excellent daylight-quality illumination of the operation site. The patented W&H LED+ has a colour rendering index value of above 90, which comes very close to the ideal value of 100 (standard LEDs only achieve around 70). This greatly improves contrast and red tones in particular are reproduced in their natural spectrum in the mouth, which makes it easier to identify bleeding and unusual colouration of the gingiva.
