What Happens when your cholesterol is high??
• It causes atherosclerosis which may lead to Heart Attack, Brain Attack and Peripheral Artery Disease by occluding artery blood flow

10 things you can do to control cholesterol
1. Avoid Milk and milk products.2. Avoid Non vegetarian foods.3. Avoid Alcohol.4. Avoid Desi Ghee or Banaspati ghee.5. Minimize vegetable oils.6. Avoid taking Food outside in restaurants , Parties.7. Avoid fast Food and Cold drinks.8. Walking : more than 1 hour per day .9. Control : By reducing weight.10. Control : Taking medicine.
Avoid Milk and milk products
• Use very little and only skimmed milk• Avoid sweets and other milk products• Can take dahi or Mahi without fat• Stop habit of drinking milk before sleep
Avoid Non vegeterian foods
• Avoid red meat / mutton & its gravy• Avoid chicken skin • No egg yolk• Use very little oil to cook Non-veg food• Take salad & vegetable with Fiber (saag) with
non veg food.• Can take fish more frequently but don’t fry
more and use less oil.
Avoid Alcohol
• Avoid heavy drinking• Avoid beer to control your Triglyceride level• Take less than 50 ml of a whisky or half of a beer
in a day, if u cant avoid it. • Red wine can increase your good cholesterol, so
you can replace beer & whisky with red wine as a social drinker, but don’t consume it more
• But never start taking red wine just to increase your good cholesterol
Avoid Desi Ghee or Banaspati ghee
• Avoid banaspati ghee and food made by it completely , its very dangerous. It contains Trans Fat which can cause heart attack.
• Desi ghee is also harmful, try not to consume it even in small quantity.
• Avoid any type food made in ghee.
Minimize vegetable oils
• Use less oil• Avoid reuse of oil• Avoid deep fry and Fry less
Avoid Food outside in restaurants , Party
• Outside food are rich in Saturated and Trans fat also in salt and calories.
• Which increases your cholesterol, BP & Sugar Level• Increases risk of heart disease & Stroke
• Avoid as much possible taking food outside your home.
• Be very selective and eat less. • Take low calorie food : Avoid milk products & Nonveg.
Avoid fast Food and Cold drinks
• Very rich in calorie and saturated & trans Fat• Strictly Avoid it or consume very less.

• Walking : more than 1 hour per day• Activity burns your calories and Helps to
reduce your weight. • Decreases triglyceride and LDL cholesterol• Increases HDL (Good) cholesterol.

• If you are obese, reduce your weight by 6-12 kg in a year or 10 % of present weight.
• Weight loose is ac fall in TG & LDL level.
Control : Taking medicine
• Use medicine only when lifestyle changes fails to control level.

only after your test report• Usually we prescribe for 3-6 months, but some may have to
take for long time or even life long as decided by your doctor.
