Aesthetic issues in health careplay a huge role in many deeppsychological ways, includingproviding subtle cues that“everything is going to beokay.”

Design matters

Patients were feeling less anxious and less fearful about procedures, more peaceful, focused and with more trust and compliance with recommend-ed treatments after the health care spaces were redesigned and given color makeovers. 90% of the staff felt an improved confidence in their work and referrals doubled on average across the board.

The National Childbirth Trust (NCT), UK survey of 2,000 wom-en who had given birth between the years 2000 and 2003.
