I am aware that women in their 50s are exposed to high risk of Breast Cancer. I am currently healthy yet I am getting anxious as some of my friends are diagnosed with Breast Cancer in their 50s. I was advised to get Breast Cancer Screening as soon as possible for early detection. I am wondering: When to get Breast Cancer Screening? What are the procedures? How much does it usually cost? (Ms. Hao) Women in their 50s are recommended to get Breast Cancer Screening as they are more prone to Breast Cancer. Thanks to frequent health checks, Breast Cancer can be detected in time and treated more effectively. Common Breast Cancer Screening methods include mammography and breast ultrasound. These methods have proved to be effective in early Breast Cancer Detection. The price of I am 40 years old. 5 years ago I got a breast implant (Silicone gel implant). I have not experienced any discomfort since then. I intent to get a breast cancer screening soon but am concerned that the breast implant may tamper with the screening result. Is it true? Which screening method is most accurate? (Ms Ngoc Bich – 40) Regular health check is highly advisable for women in their 40s for early Breast Cancer Detection. Your breast implant would have no effect on the accuracy of radiology tests. The two most common Breast Cancer Screening methods are breast ultrasound and mammography. During a mammography procedure, the breast is compressed under such pressure that the breast implant pocket may be ruined. However, without enough pressure, cancerous breast lump may not be detected. Therefore, before getting a breast cancer screening, inform your doctor about your breast implant.
