Story of how High Tea activity has helped foster helping-trusting-collaborative relationships.
In this time of a very hectic healthcare environment, it is very important that we take care of ourselves so that
we may take care of our team. In the department of Clinical Education, Practice, and Informatics we spend time
every week building the relationship of our caregiver team. We developed an activity we call "high tea". At the
beginning of each week we start with a team meeting and share the work we are doing, how we plan to
strategize the work that needs to get done, and how things will be delegated out. We then spend the rest of our
week educating, working on projects, and supporting our very hard working and dedicated staff. At the end of
each week we gather together to share a dessert and debrief from the week. We share stories, laughs, and time
building our relationships with each other. It is just one example of how we are committed to fostering the
relationships of our team.
