The product development of touchless

faucets began with the needs of

health care, wherein the demands for

hygiene and usability are the most

important features for faucets.

The very first electronic faucets were

designed particularly for operation

and treatment rooms of hospitals,

medical centers and health care

centers to ensure better hand

hygiene.

Touchless faucets – pioneers of hygiene

Did you know that under a ring there is as many bacteria as there are people living in Europe?

Did you know that in an infected wound there is as many bacteria as there are people in the entire world?

Did you know that under a single fingernail there is as many bacteria as there are people living in Finland?

Washing of the hands is a crucial

factor for good hygiene. According

to the studies, bacteria and viruses

spread mainly through hand contact.

Water Institute WANDER of Kuopio

University Hospital has studied the

number of microbes in faucets. This

study showed that there are fewer

microbes in electronic, touchless

faucets than on traditional lever

faucets.*) In addition to hygiene,

saving of water and usability have

increased the popularity of touchless

faucets.

All you need to do is to place your

hands under the spout and water of

set temperature starts running. The

faucet turns off automatically. At the

same time faucets save both water

and energy.

Operation and treatment rooms

Hygiene is the most important factor in health care

units. Good hygiene is extremely important in operation

and delivery rooms as in various treatment rooms. The

challenge is the same every day – how to prevent bacteria

spreading. Prevention of this challenge requires knowledge,

anticipation and equipment.

Oras selection of touchless faucets improves hand hygiene

Hygiene and user friendliness are the main qualifications of patient

room faucets. For example a patient after a surgery is both

vulnerable to catch different kinds of infections and weak. It can be

difficult even to wash hands. Very often a patient needs assistance

when going to bathroom or shower. Touchless faucets are hygienic

and easy to use. In addition to washing hands hygienically, there

is also need of fresh and hygienic drinking water in the patient room.

Kitchen and cafeteriaThe qualifications of kitchen and cafeteria faucets are

largely similar. Water is needed to be available quickly and

easily and in all temperatures. In addition, keep in mind the

possibility of rinsing hands.

Oras offers a possibility to serve drinking water in a more

ecological way. The water dozer in cafeteria can be set

directly between 0.25 – 4.00 dl.

All Oras single power faucets are easy to use

Kitchen faucet with separate control levers for hot and cold water, touchless function and a dishwasher valve. The flow-rate of hot and cold water is adjusted by separate levers. Water is running from the upper spout with a swing angle of 120°. The touchless function is turned on by taking hands within the recognition range of the lower spout. The position of touchless spout can be set at installation. The dishwasher valve is opened by pressing a switch with signal light. The valve closes automatically after preset pe-riod. The position of dishwasher valve can be pre set at installation (it is recommended to install the valve on either of the sides, slightly directing up). Preset values for recognition range and flow periods and for the dishwasher valve open period can be adjusted on location. 230/12 V plug transformer.

In case the control box of the faucet is requested to be installed hidden, for example on a lowered ceiling, a 3, 6 and 9 meter photocell cables are available as accessory.

Oras Electra

Touchless washbasin faucet with a mixing valve and a Bidetta hand shower. 230 V fixed electrical connection. Recognition range can be adjusted directly on a faucet. The faucet is delivered with litter filters, one-way valves and PEX-connection pipes.

The function of Bidetta hand shower: when the hand shower is lifted from a wall bracket, water starts running from a spout. The running of water switches over from the spout to the hand shower by pressing the trigger. The running of water ends when the hand shower is placed back to the wall bracket.

An accessory hose of 2 – 5 m is available for hand shower wall bracket (Oras no. 197033/m).

The factory settings of the faucet can be ad-justed to meet the user’s needs with the Oras Data Terminal (Oras no. 6910).

Raising kit 60 mm for the washbasin faucets The raising kit 6930 has been developed for the Oras Electra washbasin faucets 6330F, 6331F, 6332F, 6333F, 6334F, 6335F, 6336F and 6337F. It is possible to heighten the faucet with 60 mm with a raising kit. The raising kit is very useful in places where more space between the washbasin and faucet (e.g. filling up a bowl) is needed.

The in-wall mounted body parts are installed prior to the water resistance. 12 V electrical connection with a separate power sup-ply Oras no. 199275. Please note the importing of the weak current cable in a ø 20 mm casing to the upper right angle of the body part. The cover parts are installed in the finishing phase. There is a limiter on a temperature adjustment handle which can be by passed by pressing a button. The faucet is delivered with one-way valves and litter filters. PEX-connection pipes (ø 15 mm) are brought to the faucet in either a ø 25 mm or in a ø 28 mm casing. This so called pipe-in-a-pipe –system fulfills the requirements of Nordic building regulations. The changing of the parameters can be performed with the magnetic key delivered with the product.
