“I see the furniture in my room everyday, but they do not re-represent themselves

as ‘Pictures in the mind’. Nor do I hear imaginary dog barks or traffic noises in thebackground of my mind, or smell aromas of imaginary meals cooking, even though I am exposed

to such perceptions everyday. I do have fragments of poetry and sudden phrases darting

into my mind, but with nothing like the richness and range of my spontaneous musicalimagery. Perhaps it is not just the nervous system, but music itself that has something very

peculiar about it- it’s beat, its melodic contours, so different from that of speech, and its peculiarly

direction connection to the emotions.”

“Musicophilia” by Oliver Sacks

What the BODY ABSORBSin turn,

defines our life experience

With this in mind, I try my best to give myperipheral nervous system the right input that

gives the desired output, as measured inmood, health, focus, strength, and endurance.

Just like food heavy in carbohydrates andfats

can slow the digestive system and breakdown a cheerful mood into one of sluggishnessand irritation, Music has the power to affect thebody physiologically.

First

Understand that the Brain controls the Body. But,

the Mind is a separate entity at the controlsof the Brain, calling the shots:

deciding and definingwhat makes you,

you.

NEXT

Imagine if you could control the Mind, gaining more complete control over

the whole Human system?

While everyone’s musical preferences aredifferent and therefore elicit different responses,

you can listen to music for the same utilitarianreason that you consume food and drinks:

to affect your body in different ways.

Page 10: Music/ Mind/ Body connection

I propose that every different person has a unique andobservable set of neurological connections,

associating different neurological networks for different experiencesin a similar way.

Basically:

Different foods can be associated with different types of musicdue to cross encoding and activation of the Brain's Neural Network.

WhoahThat's a little heavy. What do you mean?

While everyone has different culinary and musical tastes,Here are some examples of my brain's cross encoding:

When one element of the Music/Food/Drink pairing isexperienced, the paired Cognitive response is triggered:

When I listen to Jazz while eating Thai food

and

drinking Tea,

I get Relaxed and more

Introspective

Interesting huh?

Page 14: Music/ Mind/ Body connection

That's the secret. Run an experiment: go to the library, check out 5 differentgenre's of music, listen to then with your eyes closes, and the write down howthey make you feel, what images they bring to mind, what smells you can recall,

WRITE ANYTHING and EVERYTHING

that pops into your mind. Remember, we're trying to figure out how theundefinable subconscious makes the decisions it does. If you can discoveryour where your neural connections lay, you can begin to eat food, listento music, and absorb stimulation through your sensory system, to achievethe desired effect.

The Music we absorb influencesthe brain/ consciousness and relaxes ortightens its psychological controlon the body

The Food we ingest influences the physicaloperation of the body and sends its reportto the Brain, deciding what it's capableof performing .

FOOD ≤ MUSIC

so in review..
