6 years of undergraduate medical training,

1 year of Internship (Housemanship)

1 year of mandatory NYSC. Entry Requirement: At least 5

Credits in English, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, and Biology.

Medicine and Surgery in the University

Residency Training in Psychiatry: 4-6 years

Entry Requirement is the Primary Examination: Neuroanatomy, Neurobiochemistry, Neurophysiology, Psychology, Sociology, Basic Psychiatry.

Part One: 2-3 years Part Two: 2-3 years


Academics: Research, Teaching and Clinical Practice Clinical: Clinical Practice in a Psychiatric Hospital, Federal

Medical Centre or General Hospital Setting Private Practice: General Psychiatry and Subspecialties,

Addiction Treatment and Rehabilitation. Occupational and Organizational Psychiatry: Consultants to
