EPS SANITAS

GENERAL INFORMATION

According to Colombian Law all foreign with temporal residence in Colombia, must be covered by a national healthcare organization. (EPS) which in your case is going to be EPS Sanitas. This company is in charge of your health service package.

Please Keep in Mind...

- During your first month after your entry into the social security scheme, you will only have access to the emergency department, therefore, you won’t be able to schedule any medical appointment.

- In order to use or access to any of the health services covered by the EPS Sanitas (emergency department, medical consultation, among others), you will need your Foreign ID Card.

Services Included in the Compulsory Plan of Health - POS

- Medical Consultation (general and specialized medicine) - Dentistry (except for orthodontics, periodontics, and prosthetics)- Diagnosis (clinical laboratory, radiology, ultrasound, Magnetic resonance imaging, scans)- Hospitalization

Services Included in the Compulsory Plan of Health - POS

- Medicine and lens supply- Processing of disability and licenses- Surgical Treatments (low, medium, and high performance)- Therapeutic Support ( physical, occupational, respiratory)

- Primary Attention Units (UAP) They are health providing centers for primary assistance.

Provided services in UAPs- Medical consultation scheduled for general medicine, pediatrics and gynecology- Medical consultation non-scheduled- First level clinical laboratory- Promotion and prevention activities

How to access to the health services?

- You can schedule the appointment calling to the phone number 7428383 or through the website www.epssanitas.com

The date of the appointment remember you should:- Arrive 30 minutes earlier before the appointment.- The UAP will ask for your Foreign ID Card.

How to schedule an appointment at the UAP?

When a sudden situation arise from an illness or an accident endangering your life.

According to the triage you get, you will receive medical attention:- Triage 1: Immediate treatment- Triage 2: Within the next 60 minutes after admission- Triage 3: within 6 hours after- Triage 4: it’s considered as an outpatient visit, the patient should attend to his UAP to get medical attention.
