Appropriate Timing of Treatment

It’s very important to

determine the appropriate

timing of orthodontic

Both single- and two-phase

and guidelines are offered

to assist in formulating

The American Association of Orthodontics recommends that every child get an orthodontic checkup by age 7 -- or earlier if an orthodontic problem is detected by parents, the family dentist or the child’s physician. In some cases, early intervention utilizing the patient’s growth can often make corrective treatment faster and easier.

TAKE HOME MESSAGE

THE MAIN GOALis not to align the teeth,

but to prevent the development of a severe malocclusion.

The growth potential

is the most important raw material available to the orthodontist

so we have to treat immediately for the best

results
