Promotion of Organic Production Technology for Coffee and Cacao Under Coconut in Candelaria,

Quezon 2011-2014

General Objective:

Promote organic production technology

for coffee and cacao under coconut

plantations

4

5

Issues and Concerns Found During the

PRA

• Old coconut

plantations are

contaminated with

inorganic chemicals

due to planting of

companion crops like

taro and vegetables.

• The problem of scale

insects ever threatens

the coconut

plantations.

• Cacao plantations

were cut off and sold

as charcoal due to

lack of known markets.

• The low price of raw

coconut, fresh coffee

beans and other

intercrops discourage

farmers. Plantations

are left without proper

care and

maintenance.

• Farmers and their

children migrate to

other areas in search

of better opportunities.

Coffee Body Scrub and

Massage Cream

11th AFTF’s Best New

Product, 2015

Why Coffee Body Scrub and Massage Cream in One?

Because it has several benefits:

1. exfoliating and ant-inflammatory

properties

2. temporary cellulite reduction effect

3. improves blood circulation

4. reduces eye puffiness

5. makes skin super smooth and clean

This new coffee body scrub uses

all-natural ingredients not found in

ordinary chemical-based body

scrub and exfoliators.

Who wants to rub chemicals on

their skin when there is an all-

natural alternative?

Aside from being an amazing

exfoliant, this new coffee body

scrub has another secret

weapon for the skin: caffeine.

Caffeine is a compound that is found

abundantly in coffee plants around

the world. Technically, a

psychoactive drug, caffeine has

become the world’s most popular

stimulant because it works so

effectively.

The lesser known benefits are the

effects it has when applied on the skin.

Caffeine helps tighten the skin and

helps reduce cellulite.

When applied under and around

the eyes, it can minimize the

appearance of puffy eyes because

caffeine restricts blood vessels,

reduces swelling and inflammation.

It can also help treat non-

hereditary dark circles under the

eyes.

Caffeine is also loaded with

antioxidants which help fight

premature skin aging, wrinkles,

sun spots and fine lines.

Not all coffee scrubs are created equal-

the caffeine content of the coffee scrub is

an important factor. Some coffee scrubs

use recycled brewed coffee grounds which

means much of the caffeine content is

depleted. This new coffee body scrub is

made from the finest roasted ground beans

ever thus, cannot be compared with any

other known body scrub.

How to prepare coffee body scrub and

massage cream in one?

Materials: 150 grams roasted fine ground coffee beans

300 ml VCO

5 grams beeswax

Procedure: 1. Heat all together under low fire for about

30 to 45 minutes. Stir occasionally.

2. Let cool.

3. Pour in suitable containers.

4. Label.

How to use?

1. Shake bottle.

2. Put drops of the coffee scrub on the skin.

3. Rub gently on the skin.

4. Dead skin cells and dirt will fall off.

5. Continue scrubbing until the skin is clean

and smooth.

6. The user may experience perspiring

indicating that the skin pores had been

opened. Dry with a towel.
