• Educating consumers about food borne illness by way of publications, educational campaigns.

Study fields such as biology, chemistry or similar courses. Having a solid work experience to back you up will also help. An entry-level job for companies in production, adulteration, or representation of food or drug products is a way to increase experience and knowledge in this field. The FSIS states that to qualify, you must pass a written test and have either a Bachelors degree or 1 year of job-related experience (in the food industry).
