Important to have a Trusted Maintenance System which is Transparent, Scientific and uses Technology. Less dependent on human Judgement and Recording

From Straits Times 4 November 2017:

SINGAPORE - Flooded train tunnels a month ago caused

large segments of the North-South MRT line to grind to a

halt for over 20 hours, affecting 250,000 commuters.

In a shocking announcement last week, SMRT

announced that falsified maintenance records were behind

the major disruption.

Engineers tasked with maintaining the pumps quarterly had

signed off without doing the work. Maintenance had not

been carried out since September 2016.

Traditional Rodent Management

Need 2 staff to install Glue traps after working hours

Place traps in locations where there are rat droppings

Process of Site Inspection

2 man operation for safety

Travel to site 30 mins

Organise site 20 mins

Setup ladder, climb up, inspect, climb down & move

another trap location 10 mins / glue trap

For 30 traps site 300 mins = 5 hours !

Travel back from site 30 mins

Total per site 6 hours 20 mins

Traditional Rodent Management

Reality of Site Inspection

Not every glue trap is checked

High staff turnover makes trap location information

handover a challenge to maintain

Actual Inspection record update and maintain not

accurate

Rat caught not known until there is complain of smell by

Restaurant staff

Need to use IoT Technologies to support customer better

as such incidences can affect businesses or be shut

down by authorities

Introduction of RodentEye System

RodentEye Deployment Strategy

The PIR Sensor Activity site heat map is shared by Customer, Pestech and Pest Management

Company to be transparent about the effectiveness of the Pest Control programme

Site survey to identify Deployment strategy

Deploy Sensors in various locations

Monitor for High Activity locations

Deploy video cameras to validate the presence of rodents, then use Video Analytics to scan for

Rodents automatically

Strategically place Sensor Traps in High Activity locations

Monitor for Sensor Trap activations and High Activity locations

Rodent Activities must drop

Continue to monitor even the low activity locations, as rodents might change travelling paths
