Date collected

590 pieces of litter were removed in 6.5 hours over the course of four surveys. Three categories make up 50 % of the items found:1. Pieces of foam (polystyrene)2. Small bits of plastic3. Bottles and/or broken glass. The Baye de Clarens has a litter density range of .5 to .08 Pcs/m², the lowest of the four sites. However, the Baye de Clarens is the largest survey site at around 500m² and access to ½ of the beach requires either scaling the lake wall or jumping across the river. The restructuring of the river bed upstream has started, the wa-ter is gray to brown in color and leaves a fine sediment on the beach and at low points. Like the Veveyse, foamis the most common item found.
