PROPS/EQUIPMENT LIST

This list will contain the most the props and equipment that my music video shooting will be using, however, in the actual production there might be something extra as it would be impossible for me to predict

the exact situation in the future.

Canon 60D DSLR Camera

Due to the reason that college equipment has been fully booked and I’m more familiar with my own camera, I decided to use my own camera which is a Canon 60D DSLR Camera for my filming, it has significant high image quality and very handy for filming. I did photography at my AS year therefore I’m very familiar and experienced about camera working process. In addition, I also own an attachable flash which I can attach on my camera very easily.

Memory Sticks(SD Cards) I have two SD cards and they both works properly, I have especially purchased an additional one for my music video shooting. The 8GB will be mainly used to taking photos in order to create my Recce shots and filming evidence tasks. And the 32GB SD card will be mainly used for filming, this card has a extreme saving speed which is up to 45mb/s, with this speed it will provides a relatively high quality for my music video, and also the 32GB storage of this card will provides me the ability to continuing film up to 8 hours.

Manfrotto Tripod This is the tripod that I will be using in the future filming, I have purchased this tripod nearly one year, it was quite expensive but very steady and handy to use, which means it won’t cause frame shake due to the huge wind. And also this tripod can be adjusts into some unique angles which provides me the chance to be more creative. In addition, because of the center module of this tripod can be using as a monopod, I can use that to develop my tracking shots very easily.

Lomo Filming Camera(Potentially use) As I have mentioned in my initial thoughts task, I was originally managing to use my lomo filming camera in order to contribute some vintage elements in my music video production. But because of the film strips of lomo camera will be needs to developed and covert into digital forms, it could takes quite a long time to do it. As the time management is really important in advanced media portfolio, therefore I decided to put Lomo filming camera into potential use(Depends on time).

Monster Pill Speaker

The monster pill speaker is a very convenient and handy tool for my music video production, it is portable, small and light, wireless and able to connected with devices through Bluetooth and plays music(IPhone, IPad, etc.). Due to the reason that the character/singer in my music video needs actual music be playing in the background in order to finish the lip-syncing correctly, therefore a speaker is definitely necessary.

IPhone 4s

Sorry I don’t have the actual image here as I can’t take a picture with my phone to my phone…and also I’m too lazy to use camera to do that.

As I have mentioned in the previous page that I will be using a wireless speaker that connected with devices through Bluetooth to play music, I decided to use my IPhone 4s to do this job, I have lots of legal tracks in it including the song I’m doing, and also because it’s very light and easy to carry around.

Vinyl Turntable In my initial thoughts task I have mentioned that I decided to play vinyl playing scene in the opening sequence of my music video in order to contribute some vintage and nostalgic elements in my music video to follow my genre conventions, therefore I decided to film my own turntable playing vinyl in the opening sequence. It has a quite vintage looking and fits the overall style of my music video.

Vinyl Records The vinyl record that will be playing in the opening sequence of my music video is <Chet Baker-Live in New York>, a classical Jazz record, it follows the conventions of folk music video which is vintage and nostalgic.

Monster Dr.dre Pro Headphones As my storyboard planned that my actor will be listening music in the opening sequence of my music video, and this is the headphones that he will be wearing. These headphones belongs to me, it has a very stylish and dashing outer appearance that could bring a good visual in my music video.

Guitar

Sorry I don’t have the actual image of the Guitar as the Guitar will be provided by the actor himself.

As a folk music video, conventionally instrumental playing is the most important and huge element in it. As I have mentioned in previous tasks that music video will be consists of two parts which is narrative part and instrumental playing part, for my instrumental playing part my actor will be actually playing an acoustic folk guitar of his own in the streets of York in order to provides the folk atmosphere to the audience.

Hat(All Saints) I purchased this hat at All Saints shop in Newcastle specifically for this music video project, as I have mentioned in my treatment sheets the overall style of my actor should be nostalgic and dress like a street busker, as lots of street buskers are actually wearing hats while they are busking on the streets, I think it will be good idea for actor to wearing one. And also the vintage look of this hat has contribute the nostalgic element into my music video as well, therefore it follows the genre conventions and the “Star Image” of my character.

Scarf As I have mentioned in my previous tasks that the overall style of my character is nostalgic and street busker like, therefore in my opinion a simple cashmere or wool scarf could brought that kind of image to the audience, so ideally my character will be wearing a stylish simple scarf in order to increase the vintage feeling of the whole music video.
