Production Diary – Week 5

Theories In this week we have looked at the

theories that affect music videos as we know them. For example Mulveys theory looks back over how women are seen in the media industry which is generally provocative. Whilst Goodwins theory on the other hand looks at the conventions of each genre of music and how certain shots have been used to reflect the lyrics of the song.

I have also... Filmed at the beach (Separate

production diary) Looked at the links between

intertextuality and how it influences a video.

Started planning the crew list, shooting schedule etc.

By next week I want to... Finish the rest of the planning for our

music video. Continue my research into the media

industry.
