THE IDEA

• Sources of inspiration- we decided to produce a film by researching on our genre which was thriller, we also looked at thriller films through pearl and dean which showed us things like our audience, class, and film that matched our genre

• A Director- We visualised a script based on our genre, and we had to make sure that our film met the specific target audience. Lastly we also had to make sure that our film matched its conventions.

• Treatment- After all this was done we decided to do a treatment, which was a one page synopsis about our thriller film.

DEVELOPMENT FINANCE

• PITCHING PROJECT- We went to some potential funders to pitch our film to them, we tried many ways of persuasion to get the money that will develop our script

• PUBLIC INVESTMENT- We decided to go to the public investment company to get some potential funders due to our low funds, we went to the UK film council for development grant which give funds to british films.

SCRIPT DEVELOPMENT.

• SYNOPSIS- we created a synopsis and discussed may in which would make it better, we changed a few initial ideas making it better and a synopsis that will fit in with our budget.

• DRAFTS- After giving our synopsis to the writer with all our original ideas, we gave the writer our synopsis to write our first draft, once our first draft was up to scratch we sent it to the financiers to see if they any ides of their own. Lastly we then finished our final draft in which we discussed with writer and the director, we then decided to give the writer the fees for the job, and then it was settled.

• SALES TREATMENT- Lastly we then went through our sales treatment making sure it was up to scratch to sell the film and for the potential financiers.

PACKING

• THE CAST- For our film we decided to get well known stars but just a few due to our initial budget. However these actors we got we had to make sure that they matched our target audience which was teenagers, so we hired young actors who can be seen as role models to society.
