Gatorland – One of the Disney’s Finest Attraction
One new attraction that Gatorland is very proud to present that you won’t find anywhere else is their collection of extremely rare white
alligators.
Gators normally come in that sort of greenish-grey that makes for camouflage in the swamps but these four come in a stunning
shade of ivory with exquisite blue eyes.
OK, so what can you expect to do and see at Gatorland? Is it the sort of thing that will be right for your
family?
Is this the sort of thing you want to book a ticket to when you make all
your arrangements including booking stroller rentals in
Orlando?
Let’s start with the animals. Of course, there’s the alligators in all shapes and sizes, including the white ones, but there’s more to
Gatorland than that.
While the amazing local lizards are the stars of Gatorland, you’ll find critters with fur and critters with feathers ranging from the wild to
the mild.
On the milder end of things, you and your children can enjoy seeing flamingos and giant tortoises and
turkeys.
And on the wilder end, you’ve got pythons, crocodiles (including the massive saltwater crocodiles), and some smaller critters of the spooky
kind that you can get up close with…
Gatorland is very laid back and much less intense than the other theme parks in the Orlando area.
But there’s plenty of fun on offer. If you want to watch a thrilling show, catch the Alligator Jumparoo where you can see alligators race and leap from the water to grab their lunch
– it’s amazing how high these animals can leap.
You can watch the alligator wrestling match and if you’re super keen, you can even have a go at
being a “rookie wrestler” where the older members of your family can
pose in an alligator-wrestling photo shoot with a real, live alligator
But smaller children can enjoy the petting zoo and feeding all the
animals – a very simple but extremely popular activity for
people of all ages.
You can also have a go with the Up Close Encounters – what’s in that
box? Will it be a tarantula or a snake or something else that you’ll
handle?
Gatorland isn’t heavy on the rides – it’s all about taking it at your own pace and enjoying the wonders of the natural world. But it does have
a few on offer.
The Gatorland Express offers a gentle train ride around the
attractions, while the new Gator Zip Line allow you to almost fly
through the air across the top of the park strapped into a harness
that runs along a wire – like the old playground flying foxes but bigger
and better.
And when you want to let your children get out of the stroller and
have a run about, you can take them to the Gator Gully Splash Park
to have fun in the water (remember to pack your swimming gear and your towels – and book stroller rentals in Orlando that
have plenty of luggage space)
And you’ve got the usual themed eateries and gift shops that you’d expect from any good theme park.
One real advantage of Gatorland is that it is priced very competitively and is a good choice for families
who want to have a vacation in this part of Florida but don’t want to
break the bank.
