Story line and shots

Page 4: At the end of the trail

The quick pace of the shots reflects the fast pace of the mountain biking, this idea was taken from go pro videos on you tube.

The up beat music will compliment the fast shots which emphasises the adventure of the sport

We will use the natural light of the forest which is generally dark and gloomy, this indicates the imminent danger on the rider

The fish eye lenses on go pro and the POV shots will give the film a more realistic and sportier look, this will make the film more immersive

The landscape time lapses taken on the go pro will give the music time to build up at the start, this will also build up tension

The close up shots of the bikes different parts will suggest to the audience that something is going to go wrong

Influence and inspirationGrand prix

From this film we were given the inspiration for

making our title sequence. We liked how there was a montage of

close ups of people setting up the car for the race. We then started to develop this mechanical

setup process with a mountain bike. We

expanded it more by coming up with the idea

of having cut shots of when the bike is actually using the features that

had just been set up. for example a shot of setting

up the breaks then cutting to them working

on the trail.

Downhill mountain biking film

From this film we are taking a lot of the

shots and techniques used to film the bike

as best as possible. In this film they use

similar camera which capture both on bike and off bike shots. We are able to establish what shots make the

film exciting and when to use effective

landscape shots. Also it helps us decide how we edit the film and how long each shot should be. We have decided to use more

POV shots

127 hours This film has the same

genre of our title sequence. We can use

some of the same methods they use to

create paranoia within the audience. 127

hours also shares a similar bike sequence to scare the audience. this is an effective way

of intriguing the audience drawing

them in closer to the drama adventure and

with some specific moments with focused

close ups we can emulate the danger for

the thrill of it.
