This Album RED gives a slightly different touch to Taylor Swift’s teen pop songsIt has changed dramatically from the previous ones, this may be because she is trying to get a different image.  As you can see her look is a not like a Teenage girl, She Looks more mature and groomed.

BOLD Font used to emphasize what the album mainly focuses on

Not a specific background used, The main focus is on the artistthat’s why a close-up shot is used here

RED color used more than one timeHer Lipstick and the title of the album clearly match

Not a Trademark font used

The difference in font give us a clue that this won’t be a typical Taylor Swift Track list

This is bold and works well for this artist if she wants The title in this album to change her direction and it matches well with the image. Her old approach to the music industry might not be working and the very idea behind this would be to break into the more successful and booming sections of the music industry.

Barcode tilted along with the track list

Track list written diagonally with the use of RED colorful background

RED color used againThe lipstick and the background of the track list give a same touch of contrast

So basically three colors are used

RED(Which coincidently is also the name of the album) and Dark Off White which is the color of the background

The Backbone of this album cover is in same style with the same font used and same use of colors

The Album is very simplistic and it could represent his life without the thing that was troubling him.

The Album name is ‘Recovery’ it would show Eminem’s recovery from something in his personal life that has affected him.

There appears to be a glass box before the building showing the artist, Eminem, seated on a chair reading a book with a television in front of him.

The ‘Parental Advisory(EXPLICIT CONTENT)’ symbol printed on the album shows a level of maturity to the album and that parents should decide whether or not the material is appropriate for children to hear. There may also be signs of bad language but there is a level of quality to the product because of the fact that it has been printed on the album and therefore Eminem is showing a sign of honesty and sincerity with his fans all over the globe.

The name of the Album is written in a white colour with red circle and white plus sign to represent the O in ‘Recovery’ which can represent a hospital, allowing us to question whether the building in the background is a hospital and questioning whether Eminem is recovering from drink or drug problems .However it all remains a mystery as the cover does not reveal anything about the artist. One thing which an Eminem fan can clearly state is that the E is written backwards this shows us that it’s an Eminem album even though his name is not actually printed on it.

A backward written E is the official trademark of the artist Eminem.

The modern skyscraper in the background catches the audience’s eye making them wonder what this building is and its significance to the artist.

This album appears from a distance as being very basic and simple however when looking properly at this album it is noticeable that there is an essential amount of detail which attracts the audience to the album’s meaning.

A Reflection of the artist Eminem stating the fact that he’s still in the glass box and a reflection is always a sign of a person being alone

A large sized Barcode printed and the main purpose of it is Barcodes for music are none different than the barcodes used for other productsTrack list written in simplistic

style

The back cover of this album is more detailed comparatively as it is a close up where we can see Eminem’s facial expressions as well

The shot shows Eminem in an Anger and bold look and in further inspection you’ll get to know that his swelled up eyes symbolise his sleepless nights which we’ll know better once we listen to the songs in his album

The backbone of the album cover has the name of the artist (Eminem) written in bracket and Recovery printed in same style and passion as the front cover so the very theme of the album remains unchanged.

DR.DREA super famous name mentioned to grab audience’s attention.

It appears that the artist does not have any clothes on & the title appears tattooed on her skin. She appears to be exposed with the lack of clothing which is posed to the veil covering her face which makes her seem distant.

The fact that the name of the album is imposed onto her body is almost branding her with the album so that if the album is a success she will be seen as a success, Plus the main idea behind doing this would be to grab audience’s attention and wanting them to focus on that particular area of the bare shoulder. The very idea is to be different and provide the audience with something unique than others and it kind of works.

There is no colour in the picture besides black, white and a grey-scale. This enables the album to stand out as it looks pleasing to an audience to see a calm, relaxed looking album cover.

She appears distant from the audience behind the veil and this makes her seem very feminine.

The flowers on her hair show the femininity of the album which from the CD cover may come across as being purely female based.

The text on the CD cover is written in a very curvy, feminine font that makes the audience think she is basing her album on her femininity.

The artist on the cover appears very relaxed and calm which also adds to the simplicity brought along with the album.

Comparing with the front cover of the album the back cover has been kept very simple and curvy

This image shows Cheryl Cole's track listing, as you can see the track listing goes horizontally, the background color is in black and white which keeps the same coloring as the front cover of this, the font for the track listing is the same as the front cover's font, this gives the same feel to the front cover, it's simple, feminine and it can also be seen as a more classier album.

The font style used is the same for the cover of her album this will help to create audience recognition

The abstract designs clearly state the style and professionalism shown in the album in order to grab Audience AttentionEverything is quite colourful and bright in the cover ,which puts a question mark on the audience. It looks like more of a puzzle instead of random songs which is interesting because the audience always praise for something different

BOLD font used determining the quality of the product

The change in themes and colours show us that we might see different avatars and concepts in this albumThe image is grey scale in

this particular part of the image which might symbolise and old age theme.

The creativity is obvious in this album cover and that just might prove to be convincing enough for the audience to listen to the whole album anyways.

The Saturdays are a genre that is based on pop and this is easily portrayed by the cover of this album.

One thing is obvious that the girls are the only coloring on the front cover which highlights their pop genre which is typical of bold colorings along with their personalities and something which makes each of them unique and stand out as the artists.

The idea of the girls looking away from the camera and into the light is linked with the title of the album which is ‘Chasing Lights’, as though they are looking towards the light

It is effective because they tell the story of the title and don’t need to address the audience for the cover to stand out. The use of the staggered positions of the girls highlights their individualities but also shows they are united together through use of similar postures and costume.

Page 11: Analysis Of DVD Covers

The whole theme of the album is related to colors and it’s quite interestingly obvious in almost every style of the font used

Vertically written track list in colorful font which is quickly visible to the naked eye

The album name “Chasing Lights” is Clearly defined in every part of this Album CoverSuch as the backbone of the album cover is very colorful and the use of bright colors brings you in a better mood
