When you join two or more cables for further distribution, the joints so created are very weak and can be damaged easily. There are many threats for a cable joint such as environmental threats like rain, corrosion, wind and dust. Additionally, chemical contacts and mechanical impacts can also damage the joints. In order to protect these joints and terminals, you must use the cable jointing and termination kits. Compaq offers you a wide range of cable jointing and termination kits, which can be used under various loads starting from 1.1 KV to 72.5KV. The termination and jointing kits are available in both heat shrinkable and cold shrink types; hence they are suitable for both indoor and outdoor installation. They are available for both three core and single core cables.

What is Joint? The Connection between two cables is called Joint.

What is Termination? The Connection to an equipment is called termination.



We require cable jointing for following reasons; Cables are heavy and difficult to transport. If there is long feeder line then joint is to be needed. If there is fault in cable then for partial replacement joint is to be needed.

Why there is need for cable jointing ?



1) Straight through Joints Such types of joints are used for long routes and for repair sections.

3) T- Joints Such types of joints are used for Branching a feeder.

We require cable Termination for following reasons; Cables needs to be connected to an equipment or another cable. End sealing kits are used to cover the cut end of cable against moisture entry. For terminating the cable the termination is needed.

Why there is need for cable Termination?



1) Indoor Terminations The termination kit is used for indoor terminating of medium voltage cables with belted paper insulation and lead or aluminium sheath. The kit is suitable for three core cables, both armoured and non-armoured.

2) Outdoor Terminations The termination kit is used for outdoor terminating of XLPE insulated medium voltage cables with Aluminium/copper wire shield. The kit is suitable for three core or single core cables.
