El-Keyi Wireless Intelligent Networks Center (WINC), Nile University, Egypt Objective: In this paper, a platform for measuring the channel characteristics for vehicle to vehicle (V2V) communica- tions is presented. The platform is developed using Rice University Wireless Open-Access Research Platform (WARP) boards and utilized to perform an experimental study of V2V channel through conducting field measurements. Routes used in the experiment Channel impulse response measurement Channel characterization parameters WARP board Doppler spectrum: relates to the coherence time of the channel. Power delay profile: to characterize the mul- tipath nature of the channel. Spatial correlation: describes the correla- tion between Tx anten- nas and Rx antennas. Operating frequency = 5.8 GHz Relative velocity between two vehicles = 60 Km/Hr Measured Doppler spectrum of the channel
