Usually switch control is used to control the electrical equipments. It isa manual task and a person has to go to the distant place in order to control theequipment when switch control is located far from easy reach. This inconveniencecan be minimized by using wireless communication developed in our project. Thissystem has been developed using a PC & a mobile. The former acts as a commandinitiator and the latter acts as a command receiver. Both are capable ofcommunicating serially. The PC is equipped with buffers to the relays throughparallel port. The operation to be performed is sent by mobile as SMS to PC. The PCon receiving the SMS, controls the equipments connected to it appropriately.Software has been developed in C to TX/RX serial data. Serial port softwareroutines are used to configure and communicate. ON/OFF controls of relays are doneby parallel port software routines. Specific software commands are used to controleach equipment
