INTRODUCTION

• India has one of the world's largest railway and roadway network transporting millions of people every year.

• India’s most of the road pavement are made up of bituminous material and failure occurs in the pavement due to different soil condition, temperature variation and material etc.

• In use bitumen material in road pavement so many problem in the road pavement potholes, shrinkage, many type of cracking

GENERAL CAUSES OF PAVMENT FAILURES

• Defects in the quality of materials used.

• Defects in construction method.

• Increase in the magnitude of wheel loads and the number of load repetition due to increase in traffic volume.

• Environmental factors including heavy rainfall, soil erosion, water table, snowfall, forest action, etc…

PROBLEM IN THE REAL LIFE

• Cracking in pavements

• Potholes in pavements

• Shrinkage in pavements

• Swelling in pavements

WHY THIS PROBLAMS OCCURS IN ROAD PAVEMENT

• In India has a most of road pavement are a flexible pavement and Rigid pavements so when the loads are apply on pavement in a few years load is properly and after pavement is failure.

FLEXIBLE PAVEMENTCOMPOSITION LAYERS OF FLEXIBLE PAVEMENT

• When the load apply in pavement, load is transfer to ground by safely.

• but a after few year lower sub grade is failure in ground.

LAYERS OF RIGID PAVEMENT RIGID PAVEMENT SLAB

• When the load apply in pavement, load is transfer to ground by safely.

• but a after some time lower sub grade is failure in ground.

LOAD DISTRIBUTION IN FLEXIBLE PAVEMENT LOAD DISTRIBUTION IN RIGID PAVEMENT

• As show in fig. when the load is apply in road pavement aggregate are secreted.

• That’s why in a road pavement upper layer is disturb so generated Cracking, Potholes, Shrinkage, Swelling etc…

WHAT IS THE SOLUTION IN THE REAL LIFE

• Use a geosynthetics material in a road pavement.

• The American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM) has defined geosynthetics : “A planar product manufactured from polymeric material used with soil, rock, earth, or other geotechnical engineering related material as an integral part of a man-made project, structure, or system.”

• Common types of geosynthetics are geogrids, geotextiles, geocomposites, geonets, and geomembranes and our review would concentrate on geotextiles and geogrids

TYPES OF GEOSYNTHETIC MATERIAL

• Geogrids

• Geotextiles

• Geocomposites

• Geonets

• Geomembranes

• Geotextiles

• Geogrids

DIFFERENT TYPES OF GEOSYNTHETICS MATRRIALS

• The polymers used in the manufacture of geotextile fibers are made from polypropylene (83%), polyester (14%), polyethylene (2%) and polyamide, nylon (1%).

• The melt process accounts for most geotextile fibers; these include polyolefin, polyester, and nylon.

DIFFERENCE BETWEEN GEOSYNTHETICS AND WITHOUT GEOSYNTHETIC

CONTROL IN AGGREGATE LOSES BY GEOSYNTHETICS

In current time in Gujarat has a so many place use geosynthetic material in road pavement

• Surat bardoli highway Use Geotextile material

ADVANTAGE OF GEOSYNTETIC MATERIAL

• Easily accessible in market

• Life of road pavement is more

• It’s simple technic not hared

• Not require good skill person

• It is economic in financially condition

• It is less cost compeer to without geosyntetic material
